So where have all the amphibians gone? Brad Hollingsworth, curator of herpetology for the San Diego Natural History Museum, will speak at Los Peñasquitos Adobe Ranch House, 12020 Black Mountain Road, behind Canyonside Park, 7:30 Oct. 14. His presentation, titled “Amphibian Conservation in San Diego: Local Examples of a Global Decline,” will include photographs and video of the county's six remaining native frog species, including the endangered arroyo toad and the Western spadefoot and red-spotted toad, which are both rapidly declining in numbers.
