The meeting went very well. We had Boy Scouts from three different troops, as well as others. The talk about Hoosier Riverwatch was very interesting, I am looking forward to attending the training next week. If anyone is interested, it is Thursday the 21st, from 8:30-4:30. The training is free, but you do have to be 18 or older and pre-register.

Hoosier Riverwatch Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring “Basic” Training introduces citizens and educators to water quality monitoring utilizing hands-on habitat, chemical, and biological assessment methods. Participants gain experience and skills in the use of chemical monitoring kits and aquatic insect collection and identification. The sessions are held both inside and outdoors. After completion of this training, participants become "Certified Volunteer Monitors" and are qualified to submit data to the statewide volunteer stream monitoring database. Any interested adult is welcome to attend, and once certified, may teach students how to monitor. Sign-up today with a friend! The workshop is free, but pre-registration is required! Please bring a sack lunch. For more information or to register, contact Leah Harden with the Clinton County SWCD at leah.harden@in.nacdnet.net or 765/659-1223 x3.
