Dave McGowan has come up with a new "webumentary" in his evolving series. This one is called Cave Biota. Cave Biota It includes interviews with several cave biologists and video of several cave animals including the Cave Salamander (Eurycea lucifuga) and the Slimy Salamander (Plethodon glutinosus)not to mention bats and invertebrates. This site will be as great an informational tool as his Frog Calls Frog Calls is to amphibian lovers and researchers alike. His videos kept me from totally boring the atendees at the Frogwatch USA workshop I held last month. I think that the videos also helped make a lasting impression of the frog making the call rather than just listening to the call off a CD. I think video will revolutionize the way we educate amphibian calls just as it has most everything else. "Video killed the frog CD star?"
